Pearls by Helen is a jewelry design company located in Vancouver Washington. It was formed by the owner and designer, Helen Brock, in 2001 to facilitate the creation and sale of custom made jewelry featuring Chinese freshwater pearls, after she returned to the USA from Shanghai China.
About the Designer Helen lived in Shanghai China for over 3 years beginning in early 1997 and developed a keen interest in the beauty of pearl jewelry while she worked part-time in a local pearl jewelry shop that catered to expatriate residents. She was able to learn how to design and create both classic style and custom pearl jewelry while living in Shanghai. She was also able to visit and purchase components from pearl markets in Suzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Many of the pearls and many of the components used in her designs have been personally selected, purchased and imported from China or Hong Kong by Helen. Other components, such as clasps, crystals and gemstones have been selected from first quality vendors in Hong Kong and throughout North America Helen has displayed her designs for several years at shows in Vancouver WA, the "Art & Elegance in Beads" shows in Portland, OR, at the “Artists in the Vineyard” shows in Ridgefield, WA. She was a member of the Alcove Art Gallery on Pioneer Street in Ridgefield, WA until it closed in late 2013.  Helen was a Featured Artist at the Alcove Art Gallery
Since then she and several of the other Alcove Art Gallery members have been displaying their creations at "pop-up gallery" showings. Helen has had successful showings of her jewelry at several of the Art in the Garden events in Brush Prairie, the Battle Ground Art Alliance Spring Show, two of the Washougal Art Festivals, the La Center Arts & Culture Tour, the Clark County Santa's Posse events and the Felida Art Show. While virtually all of Helen's designs incorporate pearls, she uses many other components such as crystals, semi-precious gemstones, sterling silver findings, etc. to create custom necklace, bracelet and earring designs that you won’t find in any retail stores. She loves to work with customers to create exclusive designs that meet their desires. |
